The Lo Nuestro Awards were established by Univision, to recognize the most talented performers of Latin music. The nominees and winners were selected by a voting poll conducted among program directors of Spanish-language radio stations in the United States and also based on chart performance on Billboard Latin music charts, with the results being tabulated and certified by the accounting firm Deloitte. The award included a trophy shaped like a treble clef.

4th Annual May 14, 1992, at a live presentation held at the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. Selena performed Enamorada De Ti. She also presented an award with Ricky Martin.
