Selena made an effort to give back and lend a helping hand to many charities. She performed in many benefit concerts, raising money for AIDS victims, the relief efforts of Hurricane Andrew, and a program to help provide underprivileged children school supplies. She was also affiliated with organizations like Toys for Tots, D.A.R.E, and the Boys and Girls Club of America.
Selena partnered with the state of Texas for different stay in school & continuing education campaigns. She did several photo shoots throughout the years for posters that would be placed in schools throughout the state.
Agree Shampoo also partnered with her to make a video about the history of Mexican music. She filmed it in 1994 and went to Cunningham Middles School in October of 1994 to debut it. The video also includes her dancing with Freddy Coreas.
